The Southampton & District Transport Heritage Trust (S&DTHT) is pleased to announce that it will be holding a heritage bus running day in Southampton once again. The event is planned to take place on Sunday 28th September 2025 in the heart of the City Centre at Pound Tree Road.

Dave Woods Chairman of S&DTHT said: It will be great to see the heritage buses back on the streets of Southampton in September. A lot of work has gone on behind the scenes to bring a number of the collection back on the road and these vehicles will feature during the day.

Thursday 11th July

On Monday 8th July, members of the Southampton & District Transport Heritage Trust and guests unveiled a new interpretation board marking the occasion of Eddie Maton famous drive of 64 - FTR 511 on Sunday 2nd May 1976.

Eddie won the chance to drive the bus around the city carrying the winning Southampton FC FA Cup team. Eddie sadly passed away in early 2023 and the Trust wished to mark that important occasion in appropriate way. The new interpretation board will be proudly displayed inside this bus.
